Today mum gave me some pocket money. I was happy. But how should I use it? “Buy some books,” said mum. “No, buy some food,” said dad. I had an idea. I went to the shop with mum and bought a bunny. “That’s a nice bunny,” said mum. I took the bunny home and gave it some cabbage. It was so happy.
How do you use your pocket?
----by Lucia
I am a girl from China. On Spring Festival, father and mother always give me four thousand RMB. I put them in a piggy bank. After Spring Festival, I put them into my bank account, putting aside a little of them to buy something that I love, like books, stationeries, ice creams, cookies, sweets…
Every little makes a mickle. Now my pocket money is getting more and more. I think I will continue accumulating until I can use them to study abroad. I also wish to help the poor children go to school.
What about you? How do you spend your pocket money?
----by Erin 刘朦菲
My parents give me some pocket money every week. So I have a lot of pocket money. Usually, I spend it by buying pens, pencil cases, notebooks and other learning stationery. I like reading, so I often buy books with my pocket money. Sometimes I see things nice to eat, I can’t help buying them.
This is only a small part of my pocket money. Most of it is deposited in a bank.

How do I spend my pocket money?
Every month my parents give me 20 RMB pocket money for my work in the kitchen such as washing dishes.
I like to use my pocket money to buy pens, pencils and paper for school.
I also use my pocket money to purchase interesting and beautiful pictures such as animal prints of dogs, cats, rabbits, and monkeys and prints of flowers, trees and other scenes that I like.
I have also bought some pretty ornaments such as a crystal ball and some figurines of the characters in some motion pictures for children such as in the “Pirate King”.

My mother gives me twenty yuan per week. I use this money to go shopping and buy some food, stationeries and books. And then I still have five yuan left. I put the five yuan in a box every week. I want to save this money to buy other things.

Many students have lots of pocket money. But they don’t use it well. They use money to buy drinks and food. They buy something that they like. I think it’s not right. We can’t do that. We should use it reasonably. We should save the money in a bank. We can buy some school things. We can also give it to the Hope Project to help poor children. Above all, when we help others, we feel happy.

My pocket money is 100 yuan per month. I take notes of income and expenditure with a small note book. My mother says,” There are many ways you can show your independence. Managing the money is one of them. You should develop your money management skills from childhood.”
So I put half of my monthly pocket money in my bank account, and spend the rest of the money properly. For example, I bought “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, “ Fairy Tales of Anderson”, “An English Chinese Dictionary”, ect. I only deposit 50 yuan per month, but as years have passed, my money in the bank has accumulated to ten thousand yuan. My mother says, “ You are a rich young lady!”
